NCAA's

Senior Kate Hirschboeck in the NCAA Championships
The Middlebury Women's team and Jimmy Butcher, our men's team individual qualifier, had strong performances at the NCAA Division 3 Championships on the St. Olaf campus in Northfield, MN.
The women's team, ranked 25th going into the competition, finished a strong 15th in the 32 team field led by All American Alexandra Krieg who ran the best race of her career finishing in 3rd place out of 280 finishers. Other scorers for the team were Ceara Danaher in 85th, Kate Hirschboeck in 144th, Sophia Spring in 169th, and Amanda Lee in 172nd. Rounding out the Middlebury finishers were Sarah Norton in 225th and Kaitlynn Saldanha in 252nd. Finishing 15th was an outstanding performance for a team featuring five runners at the Championships for the very first time.

All-American, Jimmy Butcher, running in his 3rd NCAA championships, finished in 135th place.
Jimmy had a tremendous career at Middlebury and left a legacy of being one of the most successful distance runners in the school's history. Based on his performance at the 2006 championships, Jimmy became the first male All-American since Joe McNulty achieved that distinction in the early 1970's.
