2007 Men's Outlook

Despite the graduation of co-captain Will McDonough and top seven runner Chris Pelliccia, the Middlebury men’s team returns a veteran group of upper class runners all with championship experience. The team will be led by senior, co-captain, Jimmy Butcher, an All-American in 2006 and one of the top runners in the program’s history. Joining Jimmy in a leadership role will be All-New England runner, co-captain, Peter Murphy. Peter finished the year saving his best for last with a 31st place finish in the New England Regional. Junior Jack Wambach and sophomores Bruce Hallett , and Chris Free all have championship experience and should add tremendous strength and depth to the team. With a very strong group of incoming first year runners, the Panther men’s team is poised to make a strong statement as one of the top teams in New England.
